Build a healthy relationship with your body and self-image
Your body is amazing - it lets you run, play, learn, and experience the world. But sometimes, we focus too much on how our body looks instead of all the incredible things it can do.
This workshop will help you develop a healthy body image, appreciate what makes you unique, and understand that bodies come in all different shapes and sizes - and that's perfectly normal!
Your body's main job is to help you DO things - run, play sports, create art, hug friends. Its appearance is the least interesting thing about it!
Bodies naturally come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities. There's no "perfect" body - diversity is normal and healthy.
Photos in magazines and social media are edited, filtered, and posed. They don't show real bodies - they show fantasies that even the models don't look like in real life!
The way you talk about your own body and others' bodies affects how you feel. Positive, respectful body talk creates a healthier mindset.
Focus on function, not appearance
Learn positive body language
"I hate my legs, they're too big/small/short/long."
"My body is getting stronger every day I practice!"
"She looks weird because she's too tall/short/thin/big."
"I'm grateful my body works hard for me every day."
Write three POSITIVE things you can say about your body:
Understand what's real and what's fake
Commit to treating all bodies with respect
"What's one thing about your body that you've taken for granted but are now grateful for? How will you show your body more appreciation this week?"
